Augmented Reality (AR) & Virtual Reality (VR) are considered the most entertaining technological advancements for kids.Augmented Reality (AR) provides the ability to hold or manipulate objects in your hand. The benefit of using AR in the classroom is having the ability to turn concepts and 2D objects to 3D interactive models right in front of you. Virtual Reality gives an opportunity to students to visualize and experience an environment which isn’t their reach. Mixed Reality combines the technology of both AR and VR. “AR, VR and Mixed Reality create endless opportunities for learning!” For example, an automotive training school can benefit from Mixed Reality by allowing students to explore parts of a car before entering a mechanic shop. Nursing students can interact with virtual patients before entering the field. At QWings, the above spoken opportunities are showcased for our students in theory and practical sessions. This would help our student become a pioneer by in the technology compared to their counterparts.
Industry predicts that in the next five years, AR will be integrated with our daily activities, merging our physical and digital worlds with new wearable products. For example, Boeing uses AR glasses to guide technicians as they wire hundreds of planes a year. The wearable display assists the technicians to identify and accurately connect hundreds of wires using only their sight and voice to control the app. As a result, Boeing cut production time by 25% and lowered error rates to nearly zero.
